This step stool is of good quality and easy to assemble. Although the tubing and steps are for heavy duty use, once assembled the stool appears to be unstable. The hand bar wiggles when climbing the steps which makes a person feel unsafe. Pushing on the hand bar sideways instead of straight down causes the frame to shift. Looks solid but doesn't feel like it when being used (all screws fully tightened). The stool is useful though once you get used to it.

Heavy duty unit, I’m impressed with the size and strength of the parts. No tools are needed to construct, the connections are all provided. Took me a bit of time to figure out how to assemble this but not too bad at all.

I had this assembled before I found the assembly instructions which were stashed in the black bag that is intended to be used to store small items on this product. Depending on your physical and mechanical abilities, you might want to have a helper or someone else assemble this for you. More so due to the weight of the product than the complexity of doing that. Also you might want to assemble it at or near the location where you are going to use it to avoid having to move it as an assembled unit. Each person's needs will vary, of course. I find it easier to use this product to help me get into my bed which is a thick mattress on a tall adjustable bed frame, and easier for me to get out of bed on my without using it. I mentioned that in case you want to place it in a position that enables you to get out of bed the easiest way for you and place the steps in a physical location, accordingly. Very sturdy product.

I bought this for my husband to use in his garage to get in and out of his truck bed, and work on the motor. It is extremely heavy duty even with him leaning into the motor. It doesn’t slide. The top step is wide enough to be a good platform for him to work off of.
