I am extremely happy with the quality of this fireplace unit. I have seen so many of them where you can see the little outline of flames in the back and the light just shines through the outlines giving the illusion. This one is not like that there is no stencil looking effect at all. All of the flame effects are done behind the screen and it gives it a very realistic effect. it actually looks like flames and sparks popping off. It has several different colors for the fire and for the base. The remote control works extremely well. The Heat has low and high functions and puts out more than you would expect it to, while the blower fan is extremely quiet and you won't even notice it. I actually mounted it into my real fireplace and put a surround around it and now I have the full fireplace look and the drafts that came down my chimney are completely gone. The best of both worlds. Plus I can turn it on in the summertime for effect at night without adding heat, even better bonus.
