I like that this 8000 BTU portable air conditioner comes with everything needed for installation, including the window frame kit. The frame is adjustable and can be set up for either vertical or horizontal windows, which made installation much easier.The filter is easy to remove and clean, and the unit puts out nice cold air that kept my room comfortable during the hot Wisconsin summer.The control panel works well, but I do wish the buttons were labeled more clearly. I had to refer to the manual to understand some of the settings at first.It does a good job keeping the room cool, but it is important to note it works best with proper window installation and does not work well with fully open windows.Overall, it feels well made, works effectively, and is good value for the money.

We needed something a little smaller to use in a bedroom and this does the job. Right now I control it manually but it does come with a remote and a lot of buttons.We had no trouble getting it to fit our window and we have those taller windows that open side to side instead of up and down.

GARVEE 8000 BTU black portable ac....It works really well but I don't like that when it reaches the set temperature.... the compressor will shut off but the fan continues to run constantly.... My other portable AC unit I have turns off completely and then restart again when it needed to cool the room.. it's on wheels and it has grip handles up top so you can roll it easily. I like the swing feature. And that the filter panels are on the side instead of the back... Easier access to get to them for cleaning without having to remove the tube in the back...also drain holes are on the side. I did end up buying a sleeve to put over the tube to help with the heat coming from the tube.. I highly recommend you get one of those.. it makes the AC unit run more efficiently. And it does not have to be an expensive one.. since I had two units I got a double pack.. zippers on easy and stays in place. .But I don't like that this unit doesn't shut off completely the fan constantly runs.. and when you physically turn it off the temperature light stays on... my other unit shut off completely all lights.. so that tells me that this would probably use more electric.. in order to turn that off I would have to hit the button on the plug or just unplug it... But there's no way to tell that when you're looking at ordering one.. it doesn't give that description.. also with the numbers panel being on top I can't see it as easily at night from the bed.. my other unit had both top and front. So. when you use the remote you still have to physically get up and get close enough to go look at the unit. Defeats the purpose of having the remote..The remote is basic and it does not lite up so if you use this in your bedroom at night you will have to remember the temperature you set it at and learn what button is what if you want to use it from your bed or you're going to have to turn the lights on to see what you're doing... A small inconvenience but at least it has a remote and it came with batteries... I set it to shut off a few hours after I go to bed because I don't need the fan constantly blowing all night long.. I would give it 10 stars if the fan and lights turned off and the remote would light up.. it seems to be quiet enough you can hardly hear when the compressor kicks on and off. it's just that stupid fan staying on that is irritating... Oh also the cord is about 2 feet shorter than my other unit was... So hopefully your wall plug is close enough to the window.. I guess my other unit has spoiled me...
