This set of hurricane glass candle holders came well packaged in a foam insert for safe shipping. The gold tone base and stem are a nice matte gold color. The base is heavy and sturdy. I tried the ”bump” test, which is to lightly bump the stick (without the glass) as if it had been lightly smacked to insure it would not easily tip. This candle stick passed the test. The felt on the bottom of the base is a pleasant safety feature to keep them from slipping around as well. Although with one of the bases the felt was slightly peeling up (pictured), but nothing a quick hit with the glue gun won’t fix. The glass is a narrow, clear pretty glass. The cylinder glass sleeve has a nice tradition hurricane glass appearance. The glass is thin so it can be fragile. I love the three tiered heights for a classy table setting. The narrow glass and matte base finish is a stylish and modern look that is fashionable right now. A standard tapered candle fits securely without a wobble. This would make a nice wedding table décor, or dining room setting, or for living room accent table. I do not recommend them for a real fireplace mantel, as the heat will melt ANY candle displayed. (Ask me how I know! Lol). I have set them up for my Valentine’s supper. (pictured) This set was easy to assemble right from the package. The candle sticks are very high end looking, which makes them a wonderful value.

These are such good quality all the way down to the well engineered packaging. They looked good in the pictures but honestly more impressive in person. They have a reflective shine that helps catch the eye. Very heavy and the pieces fit together well, so they're not wobbly at all. They fit a standard size candlestick perfectly. I'm using these in my living room but could be well suited for a fancy event, such as a wedding.
