The padded top is a huge hit with my cat. It looks nice around the house and completely conceals the litter area. It isn’t fully waterproof, but it’s still in great shape after a year of use. Sturdy enough for light use, just keep it away from rowdy kids.
Money VERY WELL spent on this litter box enclosure! Amazingly sturdy and attractive. I chose this enclosure because of its top opening that makes cleanup so much easier. The hinge on the bench lid is strong enough to hold it upright for safe cleaning, and functions smoothly. I have a 21.5”x16” litter box that fits perfectly inside. Litter box had a lid but there’s no need for it inside this enclosure. Just lift the bench and take care of your kitty’s business. Litter scoop stands up inside too. My kitty girl took to it immediately. I scoffed at the mat to collect litter crumbs from the cat’s feet, but that mat catches a lot!!Assembling flat box furniture is not my favorite pastime either, but assembly was easy. Take your time, look at diagram details (slots/holes/shapes), and methodically follow the steps, battery screwdriver, but you can do it with the tools provided with the kit. I’m a 70+ year old woman that used to have a husband to do assembly tasks, but no longer have that luxury. If I can do it, so can you!!!I research thoroughly before making purchases and rarely make a bad choice. This purchase was a monumental triumph!!If you can’t hide your cat’s facilities in a hidden basement, you will LOVE this option! To complete my “undercover” kitty storage needs (backup bag of litter, food, whatever), a tall coordinating color basket did the trick(see videos). Everyone is amazed when I reveal my little secret. Best of all, I’m completely satisfied!
My cat spends all day sunbathing on the cushioned top. It hides the litter box so well you hardly notice it. We use a high-sided litter box to protect the wood, and it’s held up great for a year. It’s fine for casual sitting, just not made for kids’ rough play.
Love it!!!! It’s smaller than I thought but still that’s good- don’t want it too big! Box is hidden and it looks just like a small table/perch. I’m getting another type for another room! Also the a good size box fits in there-
