I toss this in the back of my Jeep when we go wheeling. It’s light enough to move around and strong enough to help get someone unstuck when there’s no power nearby.
I’ve used it all season to pull my aluminum fishing boat onto the trailer. Even on steeper ramps, the 8:1 gear ratio makes it a one-hand job most of the time.
Because it’s manual and compact, I can mount it where an electric winch wouldn’t fit. Works great on the side of my car hauler for angled pulls.
The automatic safety pawl gives me a lot of confidence. Once it clicks in, the drum isn’t going anywhere unless you release it—huge plus when you’re under load.
