These are truly plastic-ish mats . I cut it to fit around a pole then burned the edges to keep from unraveling, worked perfectly however my smoking friend dropped a cigarette and it did put a burn mark on it.Certain outdoor chair will poke holes and go completely through, but for the price, look , and how easy to clean im not mad .
