These coolers can provide a good economical way to cool your room. The cooler provides bottles the you can freeze to get the water in the bottom to stay cool. This cooler can hold a lot of water and can provide great cooling effects in dry environments. Part of the problem with coolers like this is that in high humidity environments they are less efficient and do not cool as well. Being in a generally humid state, this did affect performance. This cooler did work well and it was not particularly loud. Overall, this is a relatively inexpensive way to cool a room and remain comfortable during the warm seasons.

This evaporative cooler is a well-built unit, but its efficiency heavily depends on your local climate. Because it functions as a swamp cooler, it is designed to work best in dry climates rather than the more humid summers we experience here in Pittsburgh, PA. We tried it for a couple of nights, and while the performance did cool us down, it only lowered the room by about 1 to 2 degrees Fahrenheit. It was alright for a bit of relief, but it didn't quite get the room down to that perfect, crisp temperature you'd want for a cozy afternoon nap. One of the main demerits of the design is the ice box compartment, which can be a bit tedious to constantly refill and maintain. I really wish the functionality allowed me to enjoy it to its full potential because I would absolutely love the feeling of true A/C cooling without paying the premium price of running a compressor. That being said, it is still a fantastic upgrade from a normal fan and provides a much better, more refreshing breeze overall. For the price, the value for money is decent if you just need something to bridge the gap between a basic fan and a full window unit. It has a sleek appearance that fits nicely in the bedroom, and the built-in casters make the maneuverability incredibly easy when moving it from room to room.

Living in Las Vegas, we have have some really hot and dry summers. We spend some time in our garage and it can get quite hot when we are working on projects. So...here comes the GARVEE Air Cooler 3000 CFM Evaporative Air Cooler with a 5.3 gallon water tank. It comes with 4 ice packs, has 3 different fan speeds and can oscillate back and forth inside the fan area. To test it, we first put the 4 wheels on and then opened the lid. We froze the ice packs the night before. Then we put the ice packs under the lid and poured many pitchers of water onto the ice packs so that the water can flow thru the little black drain. Then we waited for the bottom to fill. It look many pitchers of water to get it even half full. There is no light in the water level indicator area. Then we plugged it in and it and turned it to "cooling" and fan speed 3. It made a bit of a noise so I opened the lid to watch it in action. How it works is it sucks the water back into the top so it can sit where the ice packs are and then it pushes the water out the back via these little holes. Then the water passes in back of the fan and that's how you get water cooled air. Pretty cool to see it in action. After that first noise of turning it on, I didn't hear the noise any more. You only hear the fan which I find to be a white noise kind of sound which is great. This little beast worked best in our 2 car garage. I did try it outdoors (even though it says it is not for outdoors in the manual). I liked it outdoors too! I layed in the sun on a chair and then hooked up this fan under a covered patio and I felt a nice breeze while I enjoyed the sun. The tank is really big so I am yet to have to refill it. So far so good! Two thumbs up!Plus it comes with a remote control which works quite nicely and it is a decent value for the money.

Very impressed with this evap air cooler. The unit is extremely well designed and constructed. When running it is very quiet. We live in a semi-arid environment so evap coolers work very well, do not expect these devices to help much if you have hot, humid weather.Normally evaporative coolers, also known as "swamp" coolers are prone to corrosion however this unit is made from a sturdy plastic that will never corrode. Cleaning the unit after a month or two of use is quite easy. When there is high heat and low humidity in the house or garage, this unit makes a dramatic difference in my comfort level without having to run the expensive A/C, lowering the temperature by up to 20 degrees in some cases. With the cost of energy skyrocketing these days, this unit represents a great return on investment!The controls are easy to understand and use and I expect to get years of use from this cooler. I highly recommend this if you experience high heat and low to medium humidity where you live on a regular basis!
