This unit was very easy to install. It's not light, but it's also not super heavy and I was able to do it alone, even though they recommend more than one person. It's the quietest AC unit I've encountered other than central air, though occasionally it makes a noise that sounds like a compressor, but it's still not "loud." I use a mic to talk to people and they can't hear it, nor can I hear it in my recordings even though the unit is pointed directly at me. The fan blows a comfortable amount of air that feels cool immediately. I downloaded the app, but I haven't had a need to use it; the remote works just fine. My room is slightly less than 100sqft and this unit is prefect for the size. The output is so cold that I had to get a blanket for my dog to keep him from shivering. It's more efficient than my old unit and the electric bill went down a noticeable amount after a month of using it, it will pay itself off within the year. I'm very pleased with his unit. I can't speak about the longevity yet, but so far it has been well worth it.

I’ve owned my fair share of AC units, and this U-shaped window model easily takes the crown. The genius cutout design lets the window slide down to almost shut, which does a fantastic job of blocking out street noise and makes the whole unit whisper-quiet. It cools my living room down in no time flat without guzzling electricity. Installation was a breeze. The bottom line? It’s dead quiet, crazy efficient, and seriously smart—totally worth every penny.

Nice air conditioner. Brought it for the bedroom because I like it cold. Works great and was way easier to install than any other air conditioner I've had to install.

This is for the U shaped one. It's a nice solution for window air conditioners fixing a couple common complaints: it's too loud, it won't fit in the window or is annoying to install, it spills water all over the place.Loudness: the condenser is entirely outside, and with the window closed more (and therefore smaller foam or wood panels to close it off), it is actually more quiet. It seems like there's less risk of rattling, too, since it doesn't rest against the window as much.Install: These are heavier and a little more awkward, but install is much easier. You basically just stick it halfway out the window, and it's balanced enough that it will rest on the windowsill. Use the foam to make sure it doesn't hurt your window. Since the window closes a lot more, if the foam doesn't quite work for you, other options are cheaper and easier (because, well, less space to worry about)Water: Since the condenser is entirely outside, water won't run to the front of the unit and drip into the room. Even if you don't get the balance quite right.As for the actual fit, these work best if the space below the window on BOTH sides is pretty flat. I installed this in an attic window that is too small for normal AC, and it rests against the roof AND drops enough to hit the baseboard heater on the inside. That leaves a small gap where the middle of the U is floating up a bit, so I had to cut some foam to fill in this extra space. It's one downside to it being a less conventional shape, but that's because of my attic windows and not because of the unit (so I'm not taking away a star, I had a feeling from the measurements).There was a funny smell when it came on and lasted for about 10 minutes. All gone now. Instant cooling. I'm using it to supplement central air, because the attic space gets hot instantly after the house AC kicks off, and it's doing a very nice job.
